This online toolkit discusses the various components associated with beginning and sustaining Farm to School programs or related activities. It includes an abundant amount of resources, which are divided into six target areas:

  • Getting Started
  • Sustaining a Healthy School Food Environment
  • Food and Garden Based Education
  • Local Food Sourcing
  • Building and Maintaining School Gardens
  • Funding and Public Relations

The toolkit is created as a Google document and can be accessed at bit.do/F2S_Toolkit. Additional resources continue to be added.  

Most of the resources are free, but a few must be purchased. Those that cost money have the price listed next to the description. The toolkit includes training resources, lesson curriculums for a range of grade levels, and kid-friendly cooking lessons and recipes.
Many of the resources refer to Iowa, but most resources are applicable to other locations as well.
