Specifically, educators facilitate farm-to-community collaborations to support gleaning or excess harvesting partnerships to collect and distribute quality produce that would otherwise go to waste.

Many Iowa food pantries promote healthy habits! Pantry clients can try new foods through food samplings, recipe kits, and fresh produce donations, thanks to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach SNAP-Ed.
Live Healthy Houma, a community coalition led by the LSU AgCenter, transformed a local park in Houma, Louisiana into a community garden. The project began in January of 2019. LSU AgCenter staff held a local public forum to find out what could be done to make the community healthier.
