When are Tomatoes in Season?

There are more than 25,000 varieties of tomatoes available in a rainbow of colors, from red, orange, green, black, purple, and white. Look for firm tomatoes without dark spots. Tomatoes should be stored at room temperature and used within 5 days. Refrigerating tomatoes may delay the tomatoes from going bad. Tomatoes are great baked, broiled, or grilled and can be added to pasta, soup, stew, or salsa.

Fun fact: Tomato seedlings have been grown in space!
