Summer Squash

Yellow and green summer squash

When is Summer Squash in Season?

  • Summer

Zucchini and yellow summer squash are the most common types of summer squash available. Look for glossy and small to medium-sized squash with no scratches or bruises. Summer squash should be refrigerated until ready for use. Summer squash can be eaten raw or added to breads, soups, stews, and omelets.

Fun fact: Summer squash is technically a fruit because it has seeds inside, but it is considered a vegetable when it is cooked.
