When are Mushrooms in Season?

  • Spring
  • Fall

Mushrooms are not plants but are a type of fungi. Mushrooms have a meaty texture and can be used in place of meat in dishes. Mushrooms should be stored in their original container in the refrigerator and used within one week of purchase. Add mushrooms to a pizza, omelet, salad, or pasta dish.

Fun fact: Mushrooms for human consumption are grown in a sterile environment to prevent any contamination.
