When is Lettuce in Season?
- Spring
- Fall
There are many different varieties of lettuce, including romaine, iceberg, and butterhead, with different flavors and textures. Lettuce should be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1-3 weeks. Wash lettuce right before use. Lettuce is most often the main ingredient in a salad but can also be added to sandwiches, wraps, and tacos.
Fun fact: Lettuce is the second most popular fresh vegetable in the United States behind potatoes.
