When is Ginger in Season?

The root of the ginger plant is used to provide a zesty flavor to many different dishes. Remove the outer brown skin before slicing, chopping, or grating. Ginger root can be stored in the refrigerator wrapped in a paper towel and in a plastic bag for 2-3 weeks. Add grated ginger to stir-fries, soups, marinades, dressings, cookies, and teas. 

Fun fact: Ginger root can be used fresh, dried, powdered. or even fermented!
