The garden has already transformed the lives of several residents, and it is only getting started.

    Jul 26, 2019 From 2015 until 2018, Maine SNAP-Ed and Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County teamed up with the local Master Gardener program and Kingfield Elementary School. They worked together to expand their school garden. Kingsfield is a SNAP-Ed eligible, rural school. Together, they developed a 6-8-week after-school program called Growing Gardeners.

    Jan 29, 2021 Older adults in the state of Nevada are resilient. Despite current social distancing orders, older adults want to continue to improve their health and quality of life. The SNAP-Ed Healthy Aging strategy has continued delivering nutrition and physical education to older adults with the support of contractors, collaborators, and counties in Nevada. 
  • Learning the Alphabet through Edible ABC’s 

    Mar 04, 2021 Preschools and other early learning centers are critical settings for obesity prevention efforts. The preschool years are an important time when young children are learning to develop healthy habits. In FY19, Maryland SNAP-Ed partnered with over 213 early education sites and reached 9,561 preschool-aged kids through face-to-face education and multi-level interventions.
  • Everyone Eats Community Cookbook

    2021 Buy Fresh Buy Local Cape Cod (BFBLCC), in collaboration with Cape Cod Cooperative Extension and its Agricultural/Horticultural/Nutrition/Food Access Programs and the Community.

    The Ethnic Garden Community Cookbook will introduce you to a variety of new, fresh vegetables and ingredients that are staples in the kitchens of our Portuguese, Haitian, and Jamaican neighbors. They have shared these traditional, family recipes you can create at home.
