Increasing Access to Fresh Produce within the SC SNAP-Ed Program through the FoodShare SC Model
Aug 17, 2018 The vision of FoodShare SC is to ensure access to fresh produce for all in South Carolina. In April 2016, the program launched in Columbia, SC. Twenty-four community members purchased a bulk box of fresh fruits and vegetables from a city parks and recreation community center. The program has since expanded to 400 boxes purchased during pick-up days, on a regular basis.

Jul 06, 2023 The small town of Crowville, Louisiana has one corner store, one restaurant, and one dollar store – but no grocery store. Thanks to a partnership between Louisiana State University (LSU) AgCenter SNAP-Ed and a group of passionate community leaders, the local dollar store now features fresh produce, healthy snacks, and healthy shopping resources from the LSU AgCenter’s Geaux Shop Healthy program.
