This resource describes 14 successful stories about low-wage work site wellness programs. The goal of the program is to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables, healthy beverage choices, and physical activity of employees and their families, in order to decrease chronic disease incidences. Tools and approaches found in the Worksite Program’s California Fit Business Kit are used in conjunction to implement the program.
Formative evaluation and literature reviews were performed to ensure that the program created would match the specific needs of the worksite and its employees. In addition, informant interviews and surveys were conducted. The compiled information was used to create the Worksite Program’s tools, design, and approach.
