This is a public website administered by Utah Food $ense. It focuses on planning, cooking, and eating delicious and nutritious meals at home. This is a supplement to our Food $ense SNAP-Ed classes. There is emphasis on eating healthy while on a limited budget.
Program is no longer active.
This web site includes five main sections: plan, cook, eat, move, and recipes. Additional information on SNAP is included as well. The "Plan" section discusses ways to save, how to plan a menu and shopping tips. The "Cook" section talks about the basics of cooking, various types of cooking methods, and cooking safety. In this section, it is stated that pork roasts should be cooked to 160°F. However, according to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) web site, pork roasts should be cooked at 145°F. In the "Eat" section, nutrition and health recommendations, and family meal times are discussed.
