The National Nutrition Certification Program is an online training course developed to increase the basic nutrition knowledge and teaching skills of public nutrition educators. This course is a free service provided by Create Better Health, the Utah SNAP-Ed program, and it is administered through Utah State University Extension. The course includes 20 lessons, a pre- and post-assessment, and employs a variety of teaching styles and techniques. The content is validated through expert review by registered dietitians. This online certification program is used by numerous SNAP-Ed and public health agencies nationwide, with more than 3,000 course participants from 49 states in 2022.
