A series of book-based lessons to help young children understand the benefits of making healthy decisions involving nutrition and physical activity. The program uses 31 children’s books to begin the learning. After reading a book as a group, the children participate in nutrition and physical activities that re-enforce the lessons learned in the books. "iGrow Readers" can be used for children in Pre-K to 3rd grade.Companion parent newsletters encourage reading and healthy lifestyles at home.

Each lesson includes nutrition activities and physical activities for the target audience. A lesson handout and parent newsletter is included for the children to take home. Books for this program are easy to find for purchase or in the library. Several books have Native American themes and lessons that include relevant cultural components. Meets Early Childhood Literacy Standards.
