500 Cities: Local data for better health with buildings in the background
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and CDC Foundation in partnership with the CDC.

Data analysis of 27 chronic disease measures, including one on nutrition, physical activity, and weight status, for the 500 largest American cities and the census tracts within them. These small area estimates will allow cities and local health departments to better understand the burden and geographic distribution of health-related variables in their jurisdictions.

Listed in the SNAP-Ed Evaluation Framework and Interpretive Guide.

  • R7: Physical Activity and Reduced Sedentary Behavior 
  • R9: Healthy Weight
